Arzella Neville

Arzella W. Neville was born in a log cabin on April 16, 1914 in Morgan, UT to Acy and Elisabeth Spendlove Welsh. She was the 4th child with 7 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Morgan High in 1931 and moved to Ogden to live with an Aunt. She immediately started working at Del Monte Canning where she met her life-long companion Herman David Neville. They were married April 13, 1935 and had 3 children, LaRae, Bonnie and Max. Herman passed away in 1989. She spent her life as a homemaker and caretaker. She cooked wonderful meals for her family and packed a lunch for her husband to carry to work at the Southern Pacific R.R. everyday. She is a member of the LDS church and served as a primary teacher and relief society teacher. She unselfishly cared for her disabled daughter Bonnie, caring for all her needs until she passed away in 1999. Mother spent the last years of her life at Legacy Assisted Living and Aspen Care Center. The family thanks the staff and caretakers who made her later years comfortable. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman D. Neville, daughter Bonnie and son Max H. Neville. She is survived by her daughter LaRae (Roger) Johnsen, grandchildren, Craig L. (Janyc) Holmes, Kevin D. (Kay) Holmes, Kerry D. (Audrey) Holmes, Sherrie (Robb) Goodwin, and Steven (Crystal) Neville, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. Brothers Gerald (Jo) Welsh, Donald Welsh and sister Beth Terry along with many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 12:45pm to 1:45pm on Wednesday, May 26 at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th St. Ogden, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Washington Heights Memorial Park 4500 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or to the Humanitarian Services Fund.
