Dear Aunt Adele, Sandy and I want to express our sadness to you and your family over the loss of Katie. I have very fond childhood memories of playing with Katie when your family visited Paradise from California. I also want you to know that Katie always had a very special place in my father's heart. I belive she was his favorite niece. May God bless and comfort you and your family. Love, Kelly & Sandy

I was so sad to here of Katie's death. I had worked with her in Primary for several years before her illness and was always so impressed with her diligence and dependability, and especially with her patience and kindness toward all the children in her classes over the years. My husband died just two years ago (also of cancer). I received a card from someone I didn't know, but her sentiment said just what I felt: “At a time like this, there is a sorrow for which no heart could ever be prepared.” Please know that there are many people who loved and admired your dear Katie, including me. I hope you are surrounded by supportive family and friends at this difficult time. May the peace and strength that only Heaven can give be with you.

Sincerely, Suzanne Wadsworth

To Katie's Family, I worked with Katie for several years at the WSC Bookstore more than 30 years ago. She was an absolute angel of a person. I remember her as always cheerful, hardworking and smart. She once sewed a blouse for me when I had promised to assist an elderly lady next door in making an outfit. Katie recognized that I was hopeless in the sewing department and just took the fabric and showed up the next day with it finished and beautifully done. I was so relieved and grateful. When I saw her photo in the paper, I recognized her wonderrful grin and remembered her gracious and kind spirit and fun personality. I just wanted you to know how fondly I recall her and and how much I valued her friendship. Sincerely, Donna Kury Maxwell
