
Dorothy C, Carr
Dorothy Carlin Carr, age 86, passed away on June 4, 2010. She was born February 17, 1923 in Seattle, Washington to Dolly and Walter Grosse. Dorothy graduated from Roosevelt High School, Seattle, WA. Married on July 3, 1946 to Gordon S. Carr, an F.B.I. agent, Dorothy and Gordon made their home in several locations including Charlotte, N.C. before finally settling in Ogden, UT. As an active member of the Order of Eastern Star, Dorothy held many offices as well as made many truly, live-long friendships. Dorothy was honored to have been a Past Grand Matron of the State of Utah as well as a General Grand Chapter committee member of Utah Order of Eastern Star. She also was a Past Worthy Matron of Queen Ester Chapter No. 4 Order of Eastern Star in Ogden and enjoyed membership in the Daughters of the Nile Lybia Temple. Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ogden. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Robert) Amaon of Dallas, TX., Nancy (Alan) Young of College Station, TX., son, Walt (Angie) Carr of Landrum, South Carolina, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a brother Robert Grosse of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Dorothy's sense of humor and her perseverance and love of life will always be remembered by all who knew her well. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Michael Diehl and the hospital physicians, nurses, and health care professionals of Ogden Regional Medical Center for their loving kindness and exceptional care of Dorothy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
