Carl Krajcovic
Ogden-Carl Krajcovic, beloved husband, father and “Grampy” passed away June 15th, 2010, peacefully in the home that he so dearly loved.
Carl was born December 21, 1924 in Nitra, Czechoslovia. He was one of three sons born to Andrej & Maria Krajcovic. He left his hometown in 1948 and shortly after came to America.
He served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He moved to Ogden in 1958 and married Ernestine Cockrell in 1961 and started a family. He retired from HAFB 84th RADS in 1989 after 30 years. He traveled the world to share his expertise.

Carl was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was a deeply spiritual man who was kind, honest and generous. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to be part of his life.

you can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would always want: you to do smile, open your eyes, love and go on . We love Grandpa Carl and he will be on our hart for ever Lee, Bryan, Rosa and Rosa

I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies for your loss. I know words can never comfort a family at a time like this.
I worked with Carl for over nine years in the Radar Evaluation Squadron and can honestly say he was one of the most revered people to ever work in the squadron and his memory will always be with us. My only regret is not being able to work with Carl longer.
Carl was one of those “great” men that you can never forget. He was one of those people that everyone just “wanted” to associate with on either a technical, professional or personal level. It was so easy to “like” Carl, but most of the people came away “in awe” of Carl and not just because he understood the technical side of radar evaluation, but because he always had time for you and would spend as much time as necessary assisting you until you felt comfortable with your understanding of the issue at hand. Carl was a terrific “teacher” of technical issues and life in general. When Carl taught a class in the squadron it was typically jam packed with people. Everyone looked forward to his “short” courses on radar evaluation principles.
Carl’s reputation as a “world-class radar engineer was widespread and extended outside of the Radar Evaluation Squadron. Naturally he was the one management always asked to solve the toughest problems and he never disappointed anyone.
Carl left his mark on the squadron by all the people he touched. Whether it was for solving extremely complex radar issues, training new engineers and radar maintenance personnel, planning the future of the RADES or just helping people with any issues. That is just a few reasons whey the Radar Evaluation Squadron named an annual award in honor of his service to the DoD, the USAF and the Radar Evaluation Squadron.
I want to sincerely apologize for not being able to attend Carl’s services next week.
