
Karl F. J. Englmeier, 66
Karl F. J. Englmeier long time resident of Ogden passed away Sunday June 27, 2010 at McKay Dee Medical center in Ogden Utah. He was born to Andreas and Margarete (Lamm) Englmeier in Freilassing Germany. He moved to the US at the age of seven. Having his stepfather in the military saw many places in his youth. Karl graduated from high school in Culver Pennsylvania. He met Vicki Briggs in Las Vegas NV, and they were married then later had their marriage solemnized for time and eternity in the Ogden LDS temple Together they had two children. Later he enlisted in the Army spending many years in Germany together.
Karl enjoyed working with the children as a member of the LDS church serving as a counselor in primary. He enjoyed barbequing, making model trains, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, step-father Charles Merritts, a brother Andy Englmeier, and a step-brother William Merritts.
Karl is Survived by: His wife Vicki of 38 years, his two children Candice and Christopher (Stephanie) Englmeier of Florida, his grandchildren Josef, Devon, Emily, and Dakota and stepbrothers Chuck, Larry, and George Merritts.
He will be missed greatly by family and many good friends. Karl’s family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Vincent Hansen and his staff.
Friends and family may come to Leavitt’s Mortuary Wednesday June 30, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm, and 1 hour before services on Thursday. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday July 1, 2010 at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th St. Ogden UT. Online condolences may be left at www.leavittsmortuary.com.
We were so sorry to see that Karl has passed away! We believe that he is in a beautiful place, and is making a place there for all those loved ones left behind one day. We love you all so much and want you to know that you are in our special prayers at this time! We will be happy to see all of you on Wednesday. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your husband and father. I was Karl's manager for a short time and he was a joy to work with. He would do anything for anyone and was always so cheerful. He was proud of his family and we all knew that he loved you dearly. He will be missed.
