
Jack L. Shurtliff passed away peacefully July 3, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born October 16, 1935, in Ogden, Utah to Leo and Eva Newberry Shurtliff, where he was raised, attended school, and later graduated from Weber State University.
Jack met and married Dorothy Clapier, they were later divorced.
He worked for the FAA and also HAFB, where he retired after many years of service. Keeping himself busy he also worked as a realtor for many years.
Jack was a Ham radio operator, and also loved hunting and fishing. He was a snowbird, who loved to spend time in Yuma; AZ. Jack loved spending time with his dogs.
He is survived by two brothers; Bob (Loris) Barton, John (Pam) Barton, and two sisters; Linda (Chad) Anderson, Suzie (Dave) Beebe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Ailien Lewis.
Friends and family may call Thursday July 8th, 2010 from 6-8pm at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and one hour prior to services on Friday July 9th, 2010 at the mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank Alpine Hospice and Suzie for all the special care given to Jack. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in Jack’s name.
