Clarence Clix Kranendonk

Clarence Kranendonk Sr.

 

Clarence (Clix) Kranendonk Sr. passed away July 22, 2010 after fighting a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

 

He was born Sept 13, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to William Kranendonk & Josephine Vallinga Kranendonk. He lived most of his life in Wilson. He was married to Lyda Mae Merrill on May 11, 1963. Two years later they were married and sealed in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1965.

 

Clix was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He served as first counselor in the Bishopric, and served two stake missions. He loved working with the Missionaries, and held many other positions.

 

He attended Weber High School and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association, where he was a Champion Bull Rider.

 

He loved the outdoors, where he spent many days at his cabin with his wife and family. He was on the Board of Directors of Sunridge Property owners association.

 

Clix loved to hunt, both rifle and archery, he spent many hours in his garden, and shared his crops with many.

 

Clix joined the Military in Oct 1957 where he served his country with the 101st Air Borne Division, at Fort Campbell Kentucky. He made 21 jumps.

 

He retired from Hill Field after 29 ½ years as a Millwright.

 

Surviving are his wife Lyda, four children; Clarence Kranendonk Jr., Deborah (Val) Nicholls, Deanna (WJ) Dean Castor and DeLona (Tom) Jensen, 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

 

He is also survived by his brothers Wilford, Raymond and Donald and Sisters Johanna and Josephine.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and 1 great grandchild.

 

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Launie, Bonnie and Jessica for their loving care.

 

Friends and family may call Monday July 26 , 2010 from 6-8p.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday July 27, 2010. Services will be at the mortuary at11:00 a.m.
