Dear Gail; You probably don't remember me, but you might remember my husband Todd. I met Mike at Iomega when I worked there in the late 80's, I was there for 13 years and remember he always had a joke or a smile for (almost) everyone. He was a giant teddy bear of a man, and Todd and I both considered him our friend. I'm so sorry for your loss, please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

I am sad to hear that Mike has passed but know he is in a better place. I was fortunate enough to work with "Big Mike" at Iomega. He scared the heck out of me but once I got through the tough exterior he was just a big teddy bear. Mike was my sponsor for my baptism at Ascension Lutheran church. He wanted me to experience the wonderful relationship he had with the Lord. When I moved to Spokane we lost touch but I will always remember him and the special part he played in my life. Rest in peace my friend and we will see you again.

Oh Mike... What is there to say that hasnt already been said? I took care of Mike from day 1 when he came into my care at Washington Terrace. Yet, Mike did not know that when he came into my facility for me to care for him, he was actually caring for me. There were many days when visiting Mike in his room healed my broken heart or mended a tear that was taking place. A magnetic personality whom I grew to love; along with his amazing wife, whom I also grew to love. To someone I will never forget, because he helped me remember myself amidst chaos and brightened my day with humor and generous complimentary ideals. Thank you for influencing my life for the better. God has big plans for you Mike. What you could not do in this time, due to infirmity, will be lifted and our loving God will utilize your blessed soul to do his bidding. And Gail, God bless you. You are an amazingly strong woman who stood by his side and I have never seen love more vivid and true than yours. To his children, your father was an amazing man and I have seen it in you. Thank you for allowing me to share your father and to have him spread his love into my heart. I love your family greatly.

Our dearest Gail, your Dad & I are so sorry for your loss. Please know that we loved Mike and will miss him greatly. We so enjoyed his humor and the great emails he would send to us. We are going to miss that. I wish we had lived closer to you so we could have helped you more and spent more time with both of you. Gail, he was a great man who loved and cherished you and we know you loved and cherised him also. You were as you said in your tribute given a gift from God. Your father is so happy that he was able to come up there and stay with you and Mike for awhile and will always cherish the time he was able to spend with Mike. I am sorry we cannot be with you when you say your final goodbye to Mike, but know that we will be with you in spirit. We also send our love and condolences to his children and grandchildren on this sorrowful day. Love Dad & Brenda

Dear Gail and Family,

Mike and I are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was a special soul. I can’t believe time got away from us like this as we didn’t even know he was sick.

We have missed seeing the two of you, think of you two often, talk about the two of you and now we grieve with you.

Love, Mike and Sherry Hansen

Michael Melycher deserted me and my three sisters when we were very young. When I was 18 yrs old I contacted him, gave him my number and he never called me. A few years ago I sent him my picture with my phone number on it and again he never called me. He did not love us whatever he told all of you. I speak for my sisters Kris, Cara and myself when I say he is nothing to us and our names can certainly be removed from his obituary.
