Bill graduated from East Waco High School in 1948 and served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

He married Wanda Faye Burnett on July 4, 1954 and they were later divorced.

He served as High Priest Group Leader among many other callings.

Bill enjoyed an exciting career working as an electronics engineer. He retired from Hughes Aircraft Company (presently Raytheon) in El Segundo, California in November 1989.

Bill loved his family and being involved in their many activities. He coached little league baseball, football and soccer. He was in inspiration to many and brought so much joy with his joking personality, flattery, fun filled wit, Texas expressions and his killer smile will never be forgotten.
