Allan Dwight Hiatt, 63, passed away at his home Saturday, May 9, 2015. He was born on December 29, 1951 to Dwight and Eleanor Hiatt in St. Ignatius, Montana. Allan attended Hellgate High School. He married Mary Vann on October 23, 1971. Five children were born from that union.
Mary preceded him in death in 1983. Allan and Sue Shrum were married in 2002. They loved and laughed until God called him home.
Allan retired after 19 years of service as a Journeyman Mechanic from the Utah Transit Authority in June of 2014. He excelled at and took a great deal of pride in the work he performed for U.T.A. Allan enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his children and siblings.
Allan is survived by his wife, Sue, of Ogden, Utah; five children: James Hiatt, of Brigham City, Utah, LaDonna Middlesworth, of Layton, Utah, Scot Hiatt, of Layton, Utah, Randall Hiatt, of Ogden, Utah and Billie Jo Hiatt, of Cave Junction, Oregon; six siblings: Doyle Hiatt, of Rathdrum, Idaho, Bonnie Wilson, of Missoula, Montana, Larry Hiatt, of Helena, Montana, Kenneth Hiatt, of Helena, Montana, Louis Hiatt, of Greenough, Montana; step-sisters: Mary Ann Sommers, of Missoula, Montana, and Ann Secretti, of Portland, Oregon; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two step-children: Terri Stoor, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Tona Shrum, of Decatur, Georgia; and four step-grandchildren.
Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Eleanor Hiatt; step-parents, Wilma Hiatt and George Miller.
A Memorial Service for Allan will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. A second Memorial will be held on Sunday, July 19 at 1:00 pm at Hooper Park in Lincoln, Montana.
