Sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Your family has been an important piece of my life and I will remember all of you with fond memories. I enjoyed talking with Arlene and Burt on many occations. My daughter Susan Loved being her student at Riverdale. Merideth, I enjoyed you so much in my classes at Mt Ogden Jr High, and you, Mark in church in Ogden, when I was first married. May you all find peace and joy in your memories and may God bless you all until you are reunited again.

Dear Meredith, Your sweet mom always impressed me with her gracious manner and kindness was apparent in all she did. I liked seeing her up at the organ and always knew any greeting to her would receive a cordial response. Your mom is truly a 'great lady' and, of course, she will be missed. I was so appreciative that you and she came to speak to me the day I had spoken at your ward. I felt my thoughts to be so scrambled and was embarrassed and worried and her few words calmed me. A rather severe but as yet undiagnosed bladder infection seems to have been the cause. Best wishes to you. Sherma

I count myself lucky to have been a student (albeit VERY long ago) of Arlene in first grade at Riverdale Elementary. I still marvel at the wonderful legacy that she left on the hearts and minds of countless young students. I wish the world had far more like her.

Dearest Family,I loved your mom. What a wonderful woman. I so wanted her to see her garden with its beautiful flowers again this spring and summer. I will truly miss her. We laughed, we cried together over so many things over the years. She has put up with me and my children's antics for over almost 25 years. . She was so very forgiving, tolerant and independent. I admired her hard work ethic. Oh, if she wasn't so very hard on herself. Her best was not good enough for her. On the other hand, she praised anyone's smallest effort to help her. She was humble and kind. She was satisfied with small things. I wish everyone had a neighbor like her, a friend like her to brag about. The world would be a better place if we could be like Arlene. Dear family, my condolences. She was proud of each of you. I pray you have comfort and strength during this difficult time. Her absence will be mourned. Even Jesus wept for Lazarus. Tears do not show weak faith. ...
