Dear Donya:I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Dane's passing. Though my acquaintance was short, I was impressed with what a kind man he was. He was so excited for your new home. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if and when you are ready to get your carpet. In life, few people find true love. I was always impressed with the love Dane and Donya showed for each other. He will be forever missed by those who knew him and by all his friends at the ball park. Our love to his family.

Dane Schoss was my Father-In-Law for the 2 1/2 years that I was married to his charrished daughter, Krystal. I was eighteen when I became part of his family, and Dane taught me a great deal about what it really means to be a man. Even though I haven't seen Dane since 2002, I still think about him from time to time. I think about what a great man and great father he was. He was humble and brave enough to admit that he had made big mistakes in his life. He always set the example by doing the right thing even if it hurt to do it. I remember how he loved his daughter, Krystal, more than anything in the world. I thought about going back to see him many times over the years. I guess I should have done it while I had the chance.Dane is responsible for bringing me to know Jesus Christ. He showed me just how simple it was to let go and let God into my life. God took Dane home on Valentine's Day. I think He's telling us all to love like Dane. I still love him and I still miss him. I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer for that long-overdue reunion.

Dane, rest in peace my friend. I will always remember your quiet and friendly demeanor. I will always remember that you beat me out of the round robin pool tournament last year and now, I'll have to wait until we meet again to get a chance to avenge myself. Dane was a fine man and a very good competitor but more importantly, he was a pleasure to be around. I will always cherish the time we spent together telling funny stories and having fun while playing pool. My heart and prayers go out to your lovely bride and your sister and daughter as they grieve your passing. I know that what hurts all of us most is you having to leave us so early in your life. But rest in peace knowing that you left an indelible mark all all that knew you and you will never be forgotten. May the peace of the Lord be with you now my friend.

I first met Dane in 2003 when I came to HAFB and worked with him and Doug Mcgee doing fiber- optic and wireless installations with the 230th EIS and later with defense contrators Icon and Oasis Sytems. When Dane came to work with us for Oasis Systems we became friends and we would go camping and 4 wheeling with Doug, and our co-workers at 12 Mile Canyon and other locations. 12 mile canyon was the favorite and I have many good memories with Dane, Doug and our co-workers there. Dane was hard working, knowledgeable and a great asset to our team along with being compassionate, friendly, funny, honest and faithful to his family, friends and co-workers. I never had the honor to meet his daughter but I know he loved her deeply and was very proud of her, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Dane will continue to live on in my memory and I will never forget the good times we had together and the good times to come. With my deepest sympathy to all of Dane's family, God Bless You All Msgt Tracey Miller

Dane,You were a great friend. I absolutely loved talking baseball with you, and even more, I loved meeting up with you at Linquist Field to catch the greatest game on earth. I hope that you and Gary Carter get to talk ball and you can ask him about his great career. To say that I was shocked to hear the news is an understatement. May God give you rest and peace up in the ballpark in the sky.Play Ball!Craig

Jackie, I am so sorry to hear of Danes passing, I had no idea he was even sick. My condolences to you and your entire family. Some of my best life memories are of our baseball playing days, especially the championship team we put together to win the Ogden City-Weber County league after I returned from the service. That trophy is still standing proudly in my man cave. Dane was truly one of the great friends in my life and he will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace Dane. I'm sure we will be team mates again someday.

Dane, you will be missed. I'm glad my daughter and I had the chance to meet you and be a part of your life. We were a part of your life for such a short time, but you have left a lasting impression on us. You were so good to my daughter, treating her like family. You treated everyone like family. You are one person who has left a footprint on a lot of people's lives. It was fun to see you and Donya at the Raptor's games. I know you'll be watching them, rooting them on and greeting everyone from above. You are a great guy Dane. Donya, may the memories you have, become treasures and help you through this tough time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will miss the best friend I ever had. No matter how far apart we were geographically, our friendship never faded. I will always remember the many times we shared and how you always opened your home to my son Scot and me whenever I would visit Utah. My life was better with you in it and you will forever be in my heart ... making it better still. My heart goes out to everyone who misses Dane the way that I do. No better friend is there anywhere.
