My Uncle Eldon was such a kind man and a loving and generous Father. I so appreciated the care, concern and love he and Aunt Helen gave me as a young girl in a tumultuous and dysfunctional home. Their stability and love in my life were wonderful. I enjoyed chatting with Eldon whenever we met over these past years. He was a rock and I loved him.

I am sad about Elden. I always used to give his brother, my dad, Rulon, a hard time because Elden's birthday was 1/21 and mine is 1/23, and sometimes Elden and I got birthday wishes on the wrong day from Daddy. I talked to Elden on his 98th birthday and we had such a great visit. He was sharp as the proverbial tack, and related a number of family stories to me. He will be missed by all his family.

This is such an event in our family. Elden's brother Rulon (my dad) worked in the same business with Elden for many years, and both families grew up in Ogden. A lot is lost to those of us still here. My dad, their sister Myrtle, and Elden grew closer over the last several years, reminiscing and just being there for each other as the last three of the siblings. That can't be replaced. A lot of history lost as well as the company of my uncle.
