Chera Lyn Baird

September 25, 1967 – March 18, 2015

Chera passed away on March 18, 2015 due to complications of heart disease.

Chera was born on a beautiful fall morning on September 25, 1967 to C. Bruce Baird and Joan Waggoner in Ogden, UT.  She grew up in Clearfield graduating from Clearfield High School in 1986.

A shy child, Chera was always smiling and very tenderhearted. When her siblings were upset, she’d cry with them. If somebody fell down and skinned their knee she would cry with them or if somebody was happy she was elated to share their joy.  The thought of somebody writing a tribute to her would cause her incredible embarrassment. She loved little children, nieces, nephews, and grandparents. She always felt an intense need to see that everybody else’s needs were satisfied before her own. She never wanted anybody punished even if the offense was against her.

Recently she was attending Ogden/Weber Applied Technology College working for a certificate in House Design. She had just finished her Electrical Wiring Class and was really proud of what she was learning.

At the time she passed away she had been living with her beloved aunt Karen Baird who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Roy and Opal Waggoner, Alice and Clarence Baird and her father. She is survived by her mother and stepfather Bill and Joan Wade; brothers, Brett (Londalee) Baird, Tom (Sally) Dalton; sisters, Kelly (Danny) Price, Alisa (Rhett) Rivera; nieces and nephew Sydney, Cody, Miranda, Chelsee, Breanna, Brooklyn, and Charlie, her aunt Karen Baird and other loving aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 1339 West 400 North, Marriott-Slaterville, Utah at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2015, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Joan, Brett, Kelly, and Alisa, I'm truly sorry for your loss. I thought of Chera and your family often, remembering all the fun we had growing up. We didn't keep in touch as often as I would have liked. Love and hugs to your family and may Chera find peace. Kim Child

My prayers for Joan, Brett, Kelly, Alisa and all the family. I will always remember Chera as the little shy one of the sweet Baird children I used to babysit. May God give you comfort during this time. Pat.

Today, I lost my very first friend, and I'm not too sure how well my heart will mend. Even though we may not have been close of late, one last look at you I'd like to take. My feelings for you I've had to debate, but one things for sure, you've taken another piece of my heart, and I'll need to endure. I love you chera, and I will miss you. Love, kelly

To the Family of Chera Lyn Baird. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one, Chera. May the God of comfort heal your heart. The passing of someone you love can be a very hard thing to deal with. I hope you can find comfort in the promise of the resurrection mentioned in the Bible at 1 Corinthians 15:21 & 22. Sincerely, Kristy
