Dale Vernon Petersen

September 17, 1923 - January 2, 2017

Dale Vernon Petersen, 93, passed away in his home January 2, 2017 from renal failure.  He was born September 17, 1923 to Delbert and Ethel Petersen in Sego, Utah.


Dale served his country honorably in the navy during WWII.


Dale is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 70 years, Lora Petersen of West Haven, Utah; seven children, 30 grandchildren and 80+ great-grandchildren.  Dale was beloved by all he knew, he never met a stranger.


A Viewing will be on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.


Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at the West Haven LDS Chapel, 4775 South 4875 West, West Haven, Utah.  Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 am.


Dale has asked in lieu of flowers please send a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital in his honor.

We are so blessed to have known Dale, even for a short time. He brought us cookies made by his wife several times...riding his scooter. We had great conversations with him; he was so genuine and kind. He will be missed. Sending love to his sweet wife.
