I will miss you every second of my life. I don't think the pain or hollowness will ever get better, but I believe, in time, we will all learn how to go on and cope with it. You were the best dad and grandpa. Nothing brought a smile to your face faster than Jack and Jaidy. I will love and miss you forever. Till me meet again, I love you dad.

Deb and family---words can't express the overwhelming sadness I feel with Daves passing. I've never met a more capable, competent Auto Technician than Dave--He could fix anything, and if he didn't know about a particulat thing, he's dive in feet first and figure it out. He was always friendly, cheerful, and would have you laughing and having a good time, no matter the circumstance. Dave was a very versatile man who could do anything, and do it well. He'd help anyone, and expect nothing in return, but the satisfaction it gave hin to be able to help. I'm sad that your family no longer has Dave, and I'm sad that Dave was cheated out of what should have been a lot longer life, with you. I'm sad that as our paths changed, (and my health deteriorated) Dave and I drifted apart, and didn't get together and have a blast like we use to. I sat and thought about the years Dave and I spent working together, hanging out, camping etc., and I can honestly say that He and I had some truly great times/adventures. I have so many memories, and the one constant is that we were always laughing and happy! Dave introduced me to so many things--he switched me from motorcycles to quads for one thing, and I had to have my own. He taught my boys and I how to de-breast a game bird in seconds flat--so many good times!!. I remember once, (Chad will remember this) Dave, Chad, my boys and I went camping over by Hardware Ranch, and he had a great big 11ft camper on his pickup--somehow, he managed to get down a wet, muddy trail from Dog Springs to Ephraims Grave with that rig without putting a tree through the camper.(barely). We camped at the bottom and had a cold beverage while passers by doubted our story. I have so many great memories of Dave, times that I will always cherish. I hope the pain fades for you, and the memories and fun that you had will always be there. Let your faith guide and soothe you. I'm sure gonna miss my Bud! Love and best wishes---Eric Shumway

I couldn't have asked for a better dad. He would do anything for his kids and my mom he was the best papa to his grandkids they always put a smile on his face, even before they were born he would talk about how he would take them camping, four wheeling and fishing as soon as they could walk.. i'll cherish all the memories that i have of him everyday. it was too soon for you to go but i know that your out of pain. i wished everyday that i could take that pain away from you and that the doctors could take it away as well i know that your looking down on all of us and guiding us through out the day your our guardian angle dad i love you so much and i want you back i miss you so so so much. jaidyn will know what a wounderful papa she has i promise i will take her to the mountains and do what you wanted to do with her and i'll tell her how great you were and still are. till we meet again dad ... i love you!!! love cathie

I know I speak for all his friends, when I say that we are all better people for having the opportunity of knowing Dave. I am sure going to miss him for hunting season, but his memory will always be with us. Debbie if you ever need anything, please do not be afraid to only a few houses away. Manny Barela

David was one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of calling a friend. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you. He was always up for a fishing or hunting trip. If you ever needed help he was there before you could even ask. He will be severly missed by me and my whole family.
