Don A Anderson

January 7, 1957 - July 26, 2012

Don A. Anderson1957-2012On July 26th we lost one of the best men we knew. Don left us while on the road in his Kenworth. He entered this world on January 7th 1957, born to Irvin and Myrtle Anderson, and left us way too soon. The love he had for his wife, kids, grandkids, family and friends was matched only by the love felt for him. He spent every moment of his time on earth demonstrating a John Wayne like courage and strength. He worked nonstop through his life and honorably served his community as an officer with the Riverdale Police. He retired to work twice as hard with his trucking business. The Broncos were his team, driving his tractor was his therapy, and the time spent with his many grandchildren was his joy. Don is survived by his wife Kathy Anderson. Don had four children, Casey Anderson (Juli), Shayne Anderson (Kandice), Janelle Hancock (Travis) and Tiffany Sanchez (Marcus), with Kayleen Anderson. Don was loved dearly by Kathy’s children Bill Olsen (Marie), Carie Needham (Shawn) and Andrea Carroll (Jason). Together Don and Kathy loved every minute spent with all their grandchildren, Chet, Lexi, Quin, and Hadlee (Casey), Landon and Porter (Shayne), Ty and Paisley (Janelle), Monte and Montana (Tiffany), Shelby and Skyler (Bill), Zach, Vann, and Bram (Andrea). Don loved his brothers and sisters, Jolene Mitton (Buzz), Joe Anderson (Marjean), Marsha Moline (Tom), Mark Anderson (LuAnn), Dean Anderson (Robin) and Terry Anderson (Tricia). And if you asked Don, he was the “favorite uncle” to his many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Don Anderson Memorial Fund at America First Credit Union.

I will miss talking to Don on the phone every day. I am dispatcher for Meadow Lark. I talked to him at least every day. Him & Casey are my favorites. He was a very happy man. He made me laugh every day with his gruff act. He loved his wife & family very much. Your family is in my prayers every day. Casey give me a call if you need an ear. I grew to care a great deal for you & your Dad.

I was a dispatcher in the old Weber Consolidated Dispatch. I can remember Don when he was a Riverdale officer. He came into dispatch often and was always very friendly. He was never mean on the radio and was a good officer. I also worked with Kathy at Weber Dispatch and hope she will find comfort in the days ahead. God Bless, Sue Smith

I had the pleasure of dispatching for Don when he was a Riverdale officer, and also got to see him after he retired, as I am friends with Kathy's daughter. I don't think I ever remember a time when Don did not have a smile on his face. He was always so kind, and was always willing to do anything for anyone. He will be missed. My heart goes out to Kathy and the rest of his family. You are all in my thoughts.

Wow – what a shock! Don was one of our favorite haulers. Bent over backwards to accommodate us and our dealers. He made my day when he showed up to haul our trailers. Always a smile, great sense of humor, followed by that memorable laugh. Had that blue tooth in his ear, never quite sure when he walked through the door if he was talking to me, himself, or on the phone. He talked about his family with a twinkle in his eyes. Adored his wife and always talking about the grandkids. Don will be missed! Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. Casey we are thinking of you!

All the memories came flooding back when I heard you moved on to greener pasture. I laughed, cried, got mad, contemplated and sat in silence. Most of all, I was reminded of how you showed what a true friend is. You made this crazy world a better place for many people. Thanks for having my back all those years and being a great friend. Be seeing you again...Love ya,Skip

Dear Tiffany and family:Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. We are so sorry for your loss. The first time I (Jeanene) met Don, we were snowmobiling on his property. I was way cold so I went inside the house with Tiff and I felt such a warm presence in the few moments of meeting him. May the lord comfort you and help your heart heal from his absence. We love you.

Don and I started in law enforcement at the same time, we 'grew' up together in 'the business'. He was always a great friend to me.As deeply saddened as I am about his passing, I can't think about him without smiling.....that speaks to the kind of man he was.My deepest sympathies to everyone that loved him.

We had only spent a short time with Don and Cathy but we have heard many happy moments thru Carie and Shawn. Don was much admired and loved by them both. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
