Dorothy Sawdey Dorothy Sawdey passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home in Ogden at the age of 94. She was born on October 1, 1917 in North Loup, Nebraska to Lloyd Davis and Myrtle Correll Davis. She married Ronald Carwin in 1935, he died in 1949. She married Eldon Sawdey in 1952 and he died in 2009. Dorothy lived in the North Loup area until her family moved to northeastern Colorado when she was a young girl. She moved from Fleming, Colorado to Ogden in 1955. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and we will forever miss her happy humming and singing as she worked around the house. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker, cook and baker. She was a volunteer in her church, fraternal organizations and community. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church for nearly 40 years serving on various committees. Dorothy was active in United Methodist Women and chaired many Election Day Dinners and Rummage Sales raising money for mission projects. She was an active member of Miriam Chapter #14 Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by six children: Shirley (Bill) Caddell, Peggy Carter, Bill (Marilyn) Carwin, Judy (Richard) Baldwin, Sandi Ciuliani and Rodney James Sawdey; a sister, Wilma Burris; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Her family wishes to thank Hospice For Utah for the loving care given to our mother. Special thanks to Brooke, Stephanie and Debbie. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Marriott-Slaterville. Interment will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00 am at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
