Ethel Tanner LewisOur beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Ethel Tanner Lewis, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, after 95 wonderful years of life. She was born in Milford, UT, on April 29, 1916, a daughter of David Alma and Henrietta Broadhead Tanner. Ethel was raised and educated in Milford and attended Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, where she met her lifelong companion, LaMoine “Lew†Lewis. They married June 29, 1938, and later were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. LaMoine preceded her in death in 1998. Ethel was a homemaker and mother and also worked for American Food Stores and Internal Revenue Service. She and Lew enjoyed many years as “Snowbirds†in Mesa, AZ. Ethel is survived by daughters Judi (Mike) McNally, South Ogden, and Patricia Lewis, Clovis, CA. Her grandchildren are David Chatlin, Salt Lake City, and Holly (Brian) Lake, Gilbert, AZ.She is also survived by her great grandchildren Austin Chatlin, Chloe Chatlin, Court Lake, Phoebe Lake, Mallory Lake, and Emma Lake.The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided Ethel by the staff at Wasatch Care Center and by Dr. John R. Wood and his IHC Hospice team. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 9, at 11 am at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
