Gary Charles Barnes

May 15, 1969 - July 30, 2016

Gary Charles Barnes, 47, left this earth surrounded by love with his best friend and brother, Vern at his side.  Suffering from liver failure, he was greeted on the other side by his mother and many other loved ones.

Gary was born May 15, 1969 in Ogden, Utah to Robert Duane Barnes and Lael Allen Barnes.

He met and married Cindy Barnes in 1992 in the state of Washington.  They had two beautiful sons together, Sean and Tyson, whom he loved dearly.  They were later divorced.  He met Jenifer Warg, whom he was married to for a brief time.  Later on, he met and spent the last few years with the love of his life, Stacey Stark.

Gary was known to many as “Gary Fairy”.  He adored being surrounded by family.  He was especially close with his brothers and sister.  He was a passionate man, always full of humor and wit.  Gary often showed his clumsy yet loveable self that many got to enjoy.

Gary was a large man so he was easily able to put up the “tough guy” front.  Those that knew him knew that it was all an act and he was in fact, a big “teddy bear” at heart.  Gary will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.

Gary is survived by his sons, Sean and Tyson Barnes; father, Robert (Vickie) Barnes; girlfriend, Stacey Stark and her children; brothers, Vern, Robert and Bryon Barnes; sister, Sheri (Scott) Boekweg-Nelson as well as many nieces, nephews and countless loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lael Jean Allen Barnes; a special niece, Brandi Barker; a loved brother-in-law, Bryan Boekweg and many others who were able to greet him on the other side.

Gary Barnes. Wasn't just my moms boyfriend to me. He was my dad, he helped me through a lot of rough moments and he kept us all strong. He made my mom smile more than I can say I have ever seen her do. he is definitely the humor in our family, he could always get us laughing. I remember how protective he was of those he loved, Hed never let anything happen to them... He once told me, he admired me and said I was a true gods daughter because I could love someone for who they are and not judge as many would... I can't tell you all how much of a selfless and compassionate person he was, because its more than I can even say... But I can't say that Gary Barnes has left a huge impact on our lives, for the better. Has given us strength and wisdom. I will forever miss the nightly 2am walks to maverick, the long talks when I needed a shoulder to lean on, the jokes and the clumsyness that we all loved and humored. I will always miss the way my mom smiled when he walled into the room and the happiness her brought to us all... But this is not goodbye because I know he is there watching over us and protecting us as he always had. He is my dad, he is family and he will always be. I love and miss him sooo much, but I know he is beside me and I will continue to take my nightly walks and long talks because I believe he will be right there beside me doing it with me. He loved his family, that is one think ng he held onto. I love you dad!
