Gary Denny Peterson1956 ~ 2011With thankful hearts, we pay tribute to Gary Denny Peterson, who left us on December 11, 2011, and joined his parents Denton and Helen Peterson in his journey of eternal life. Born on Thanksgiving Day 1956 in Great Falls, Montana, Gary along with his family appreciated the natural beauty of Montana and enjoyed numerous family picnics and camping trips. In 1969, Gary’s father died and his mother moved her growing family to Ogden, Utah. In Ogden, Gary excelled in life, developed numerous lifelong relationships and was a member of the Bonneville High School Championship football team. Following graduation from Bonneville High in 1975, Gary served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the Minnesota-Minneapolis Mission from 1976-1978.Upon his return from his mission, Gary continued his devotion to his Church and was active in numerous teaching positions and had special interests in genealogy, food storage and preparation for difficult times. In addition to his commitment to his Heavenly Father and the Church, Gary was a self-taught carpenter, and enthusiastic gardener and liked to tell stories. Continuing with his appreciation for the out of doors, Gary was physically active in his employment with the Union Pacific Railroad traveling throughout Utah and Idaho and as a letter carrier of the Postal Service. We are grateful for the love and lessons Gary shared with us during his life. Dear friends and neighbors:We are so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. We appreciate the friendliness of you all as our neighbors over the years. It was always nice to see a friendly face across the street. We've lost a lot of our loved ones from the neighborhood over the years. Gary, Ron, Nancy, and others left us way too soon. I know they are in a better place, but it still leaves us quite a void in our own lives. God bless you all! Paula Vigil- Yates and family (Ben and Lucy Vigil)

Being a friend to Gary meant being a friend for life. Gary used to leave me little messages on "bulk mail" when he relieved the letter carrier assigned the route where I live. We went skiing together and talked at length about all sorts of things. He was courageous, helpful, caring. He shared his fondness for his siblings and his admiration for his family and friends. I did not see the obituary until after the funeral. I would like to have attended. Best wishes for you all during this time.

I am so thankful for the family histories and pictures Gary shared with me since we reconnected after Aunt Helen's death. They are so precious to me and knowing that he wanted me to have them is an added blessing. Love and Prayers to all the cousins during this sad time.
