Glenda “Luana” RiceOur beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on February 23, 2013. She was born in Salt Lake City on April 23, 1931 to Glen and Olive Jameson. Luana grew up in Salt Lake City and met the love of her life Walter Donald Rice at a roller skating rink. They were married April 22, 1950, and settled in Slaterville. She worked for Ogden Poultry, the Standard Examiner, and for Ogden City School District. She also worked with her husband on their family farm. She enjoyed taking trips to Wendover, playing cards, bowling and spending time with friends and family. Luana’s life works include children: Debbie (Gary) Susott, Walter Rice, Shelley (Steve) Couch, John Dale Rice, and Steven (Tami) Vaux. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Ben), Jeff (Marjeen), Marie (Carey), Jason, Glen (Brooke), Ellen (Justin), Tyler, Samantha, Mickala, and Hannah. Great-grandchildren: Alic, Ansley, Zack, Jacklyn, Julia, Dezeray, Audra, Berlin and Marissa. A viewing will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m.Cremation under the direction of Leavitt’s Mortuary. We have known her ever sence 1955 when we honestly were the best of neighbors she was my mentor I just loved her we all did she was a forever faithful friend to us I just wish I could be there to give my last respects to her and A big hug to all of you sweet people I am your forever friend Sharen Guffey Swenson South Dakota
