Gloria Jeanne Cohn

December 25, 1931 - May 16, 2012

Gloria Jeanne Rosen CohnThe greatest love story ever told started on December 25, 1931 when Gloria Jeanne Rosen was born to Evelyn and Arthur Rosen in Oxnard, California. She was raised in San Francisco, California. She married the love of her life, Harry Burton Cohn at Fort Ord. California on June 24, 1951. Together, they have three daughters: Marla (David) Avner, North Ogden, Jeri (David) Ashworth, Ogden, Lynn (Martin) Colijn, Salinas, California, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two more on the way. What a legacy!Gloria had many talents and many people who loved her. She is a Past Worthy Matron of Miriam Chapter 14 Order of Eastern Star. She was an exceptional seamstress and met many people sharing her talent for over 50 years. A strong and valiant woman, she endured many years of poor health but never let that keep her from living life to the fullest. She left this earthly life to fly with the angels and probably sew some new wings or hem or repair others on May 16, 2012.A Celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 1339 West 400 North, Harrisville. We seem to have dropped out of each other's lives when I went off to college and Marla and Dave got married. But I will never forget the times at the Masonic temple or around the Cohn dinner table in Salinas just chatting. I have periodically checked the internet for news of the family. But this first discovery is devastating. You will all always have my love and I will always remember Gloria fondly.

I purchased an article of clothing several years ago after Dillards stopped doing alteations. The clerk gave me your mother's business card and she hasdone alterations for me ever since.I have been blessed by her friendship from day one. She knew no strangers and warmly included all in her circle of friends. I was always lifted by the joy of her countenance, her zest for life, and her love for Harry and her family. When I called for alterations about two months ago and the phone number was no longer available, I was concerned that maybe she had "gone home" and I had somehow missed the notice in the paper. So, I was grateful to see the notice in the paper and be given an opportunity to let you know how much I appreciated the beautiful work she did for me but most of all for the joy of her friendship.Because of the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I know that she is alive and free from the pains she suffered here in mortality. I know you will miss her but how grateful you must be for the blessings of a wonderful Mother.May the peace of our Savior be with and bless and comfort you as you miss your dear wife and Mother.Sincerely,Marsha Ferrin

I always remember a smile and genuine hug from her.She always showed support for your family even when all the boys served our church both she and Harry were there to show love and support. I am sorry for her moving on and leaving us for a short time but I know she must be in a most happy place with her loved ones. Sorry we can't be at the service but we send you our love. Dearest Harry & Cohn family/clan - Our deepest condolences on the death of your loved one. It was our pleasure to be a part of the Cohn family during our later years of residence in UT. Needless to say there are memories to be treasured & never forgotten and, in particular, being a part of a surprise anniversary celebration on a dinner cruise on the Great Salt Lake back a few years ago. Our task was to get Harry & Gloria to the event without their knowing just what was taking place and I recall that we were able to pull it off to their dismay & surprise. It was a wonder evening crusing around on the lake which included a wonder dinner, etc. God Bless the Cohn family.

Harry to you and your daughters I hope you know that she is no longer suffering, and at peace in God's hands. I know how much you loved her, and you took such good care of her. If I remember correctly you and Gloria took Ron and I to the first Shrine affair. Take care. God bless you and yout family. Fondly, Marta

Marla and David and Family,As her picture here so beautifully reveals, Gloria's eyes and smile always radiated much light. When we visited she made my family feel very welcomed. The world is a little sadder with her departure. We were blessed to have known GLoria and will keep you all in our prayers. The Malibu Turrows- Randy, Carlene and Kat

Marla, I remember your Mom from the many times we would visit the Salinas bethel. She was so kind, and several times she would host us giggly girls at your home. It was a sweet time in life and I'm glad she was part of it. Deepest Sympathy, Iris
