IRIS M. THOMPSON SHORT /DANIEL STEPHEN SHORTTOGETHER FOREVERIris Martha Thompson Short, age 70, went home to her Heavenly Father on Tues. Jan.25, 2012 in the Kingman Hospital, due to complications from surgery. Her husband, Daniel Stephen Short, age 76, died Feb. 5, 2012, in the Kingman Hospital due to complications from surgery. They even spent their last days together in the same hospital room.They were married Oct 1, 1960 in Ogden, Utah.They are the parents of 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 11 gr. grandchildren. Iris was born July 29, 1941 in Rupert, Idaho. She was the 9th of 12 children born to Ira Edmund and Velma Olive Briggs Thompson.Dan was born May 7, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the 5th of 6 children of Frankie Albert and Goldie Mae Short.They loved to go camping, river rafting, ATV’ing, motorcycle riding ,water skiing, with family and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and happy infectious laugh. A sweet spirit, she will be missed by many. She loved sister’s day with her 3 sisters every year. She loved to crochet and has made many beautiful afghans and dolls for her family. She loved to read books, especially mysteries. She enjoyed reading her Bible every morning. He enjoyed working on cars and playing golf, and being with his family.They are survived by, their daughters, Shelly Short, Ogden, Utah ; Lori [Kelly] Bartlett, Clearfield. Utah; son Frank Short , Texas, Her two sisters: Isabelle [VerNon] Bright, Dorrene [Darrel-deceased] Jensen; three brothers, Ellis [Shirley] Thompson, Phil [Lynne] Thompson and David Thompson. His brothers, Frank Short and Darrel [Dot] Short; sisters Jane Moser and Betty Nicklaus. And many nieces and nephews.They are preceded in death by Their parents, their son, Daniel Stephen Short II., Granddaughter Shantel Short, grandsons Devin Short and Daniel Stephen Short III. Her sisters LaRee Thompson, Joyce Johnson, and brothers: Albert, Robert, Howard and Edmund Thompson. His brother, Floyd Short.Funeral services will be held on Friday 11:00am, Feb. 17,2012 at Leavitt’s mortuary 836 36th S. Ogden. Viewing will be held prior to the service.
