Jesse Gallegos Jr

March 6, 1978 - July 1, 2017

Jesse Gallegos Jr. (J), 39, passed away peacefully at his home on July 1, 2017 in South Ogden, Utah. J, was born March 6, 1978 to Jesse Gallegos and Beatrice Montoya Gallegos in Ogden, Utah. J, attended Ogden High School. He married his best friend and former wife Samantha Vu in Ogden, Utah on July 28, 2007.

A loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. J, enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, whether it was fishing on his boat, camping, riding four wheelers or barbecuing a mean rack of ribs for his family gatherings with a cold one in hand. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, and we celebrated it big for you this year brother. He was a very selfless man, who would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. Although he was only here on earth for 39 short years, he sure made the best of it. We will always cherish the memories we‘ve made with him along the way. Music will never be the same, because behind every song he liked was a different reason and meaning.

J, is survived by his parents, Grandma Carol; his daughters Jade and Salina; his four-legged companion Dozer; sisters Lynette (Kelly) Swenson, Salina (Mason) Funk, Keith (Lynette) Gallegos; nieces and nephews Joscelyn, Aleah, Quentin, Talia, Cami, Jayvian, KJ and Jeremiah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
J, is preceded in death by, his brother Joe, Grandpa Eddie, Grandma Mary and Grandpa Joe as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

A viewing will be held in his honor on Friday July 14, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary, (836 36th Street, Ogden, UT), a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, (514 24th St.), Ogden.

J, will be laid to rest on Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Ogden City Cemetery @ 10:00 a.m.

I worked with J. The longer we worked together the more the more we grew as friends. He was fun to work with. Jesse to me was a kind hearted, happy and always had something nice to say. No matter if he had a rough day, he could make you smile or laugh. R.I.P brotha. I will take your memories to the end of my journey on earth and beyond.

You were a man of respect for others ,you treated people as treated. If you know J as I did you know exactly what I'm saying. We loved you as family J and was treated the same back. You believed in what was right was right and lived by it even if it took, thrown a couple punches to get your point across. He called or texted every day sometimes asking opinions of others on things that were troubling him and what to do about them. He talked for hours to my wife and myself just simply looking for a piece of mind within himself for another day. He was a very lonely man not knowing what to do. We will miss him very much. GOD BLESS HOPE YOU FOUND PEACE MY FRIEND...
