Sincere condolences to my cousins on the passing of your father (my uncle) who certainly had a rough time the past several years. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed. I still have two postcards he sent me when he served in Greenland. The last time I saw your father and mother together, I asked them about when they first met and what she noticed about him. She said it was his eyes. I've never seen the Aegean, but I bet his eyes were bluer. I was looking to post a photo of him with our dog, but I haven't been able to find it. I did post a photo from his visit to Lorain in 1991 for your grandfather's 100th birthday. Again, sorry for your loss.

I lived next to John, Sonia, and Sunshine for 17 years. They were always the greatest neighbors, and the sweetest people. RIP John, you'll truly be missed.

Dianne - I never had the opportunity to meet your Dad when I lived in Utah but what I do know is you cared and loved him deeply. You were there for him until the very end and that is truly a blessing and something that you can hold close to your heart. What a wonderful and beautiful daughter you were to your beloved Father. My thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of sorrow. May God Bless you!

John & I became friends during his stay at the Vet's home in Ogden. I will always remember him. Although speech eluded him, we communicated. A dance in the dining room. Sharing some popcorn. Lunch at Jeremiahs for his last birthday. The way he always squeezed my hand in hello or goodbye. He will be missed. "Yeah right" as he would say before his speech was totally gone. My prayers are with are with your family.

To my cousins, whom I've never met...we loved your dad and had so much fun with him when he would come into town and we would go out to have some snacks and a couple of drinks. Like Jill who posted before me said, he always had a twinkle in his eye. I remember when I was little and Uncle Jack was coming to visit, there was so much buzz around the house that I thought he was some sort of celebrity. In a way, he was- he was an entertainer who would make everyone laugh with his outrageous stories. I was happy to have met his beloved Sunshine- what a sweet, gentle dog and wonderful companion for him. We are sorry we never got out to Utah to visit. We will miss Uncle Jack very much- you have our deepest condolences for your loss.

I met John in Georgetown, TX at a local restaurant and gathering spot. We discovered that we were both from Lorain, Ohio and that is what started our "conversations". I did most of the talking as it had become difficult for John to speak but we found a way! I could tell he was an interesting character who had a lot of stories to tell. We talked a lot about Lorain... I brought him old pictures of Lorain and he would smile... He always greeted me with a big hug and had a twinkle in his eye. I missed seeing him when he left for Utah. He was a wonderful man and I extend my deepest sympathy to all his family.
