Joseph Junior Maylin

October 19, 1925 - March 5, 2015

Joseph Junior Maylin, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 89, died March 5th, 2015 at his home.  He was born on October 19, 1925 in Kaysville, Utah to Joseph Hyrum Maylin and Margaret Janette Odd.  He married Evelyn Mae Barnes on November 12, 1948.  Their marriage was later solemnized on June 2, 1962 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.  They shared 56 wonderful years together before she passed away.

Joe served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and upon retiring from the military in 1968, he then worked for 18 years at Jensen Brother’s General Tire.

In his spare time Joe loved to bowl, and for several years he was involved with Special Olympics and found great joy as he worked with the kids.  Joe was kind and caring and enjoyed meeting new people and after a brief conversation had often made a lifelong friend.  He was also a big tease, in fact when answering the phone, his favorite greeting was… “Joe’s Bar and Grill”.

Joe is survived by his children:  Carolyn Rusch, Allen (Kathryn) Maylin, Brent (Julie) Maylin, Joseph (Diane) Maylin and Pat Gabaldon.  He has 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A special thanks to the staff at Legacy Hospice especially Bonnie, Kim and Ashley for their loving care the past two years.

Dear Joe Maylin Family, We send our deepest sympathy for the passing of Joe. The moments we shared with Joe over several bowling years will be cherished. He was truly a gentemen's gentleman. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold. He was loved by all who had the privilege of bowling with him. The world would be a better place if we had more Joe Maylin's in it. We will truly miss Joe and the companionship we shared with him. Nothing is harder then saying goodbye to someone you love. In this time of sadness, our thoughts and prays are with the family during this difficult time. Alan & Marian West PS. We bet Joe has already got a 300 game against St. Peter.

I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend Joe`s funeral but I am away. I loved Joe. He is a great man and was a good friend and employee all those 18 years at Jensen Bros. Tire Co. May the good Lord bless you as you celebrate his life knowing that we will all see him again. Respectfully
