Kathleen Hadley Mickelson

December 7, 1941 - March 23, 2016

Kathleen Hadley Mickelson, 74, passed away March 23, 2016 at her home in Layton.  Kathy was born December 7, 1941 to Marvin Walter and Virginia Wright Hadley in Ogden, Utah.  Kathy attended Ben Lomond High School.  She married Lynn Glen Mickelson in Elko, Nevada on September 27, 1963.  They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on September 27, 1973.

Kathy loved spending time with her high school heart throb, Lynn.  They were married when he came home from the Navy.  She raised four beautiful daughters and loved them with all her heart.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored her.  She loved being home with her family, cooking amazing food, doing crossword puzzles, reading and golfing with her sweetheart.  She loved to travel and visited many places, but her favorite place to visit was Hawaii.  Kathy had many church callings, but the ones she loved the most were the ones that included working with children.  Her favorite flower was a gardenia, her favorite food was “FRESH” French fries, ask any of her grandchildren about fresh fries and they will have several stories to share.  Lynn and Kathy served missions in the Atlanta, GA. Temple and the Washington, D.C. Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kathy always went without so others had plenty.  Her love and generosity was adored by family, friends, and all that knew her. Kathy always pushed the importance of love and life, but never pushed too far.  Her earthly body will be missed, but her presence will Iive on in her spirit and loving memories.

We are so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I just barely found her on Facebook, because of her daughters Tracie and Lisa. I served with Kathy in Layton in the Primary Presidency in the late 1970's till 1980. It was such a joy to work with her. The love she had for children was very obvious. Kathy is a class act, and I know we will reunite in heaven some day with joy. We pray God's blessings and comfort on the Mickelson Family.
