Kathryn Marie Kerr Petersen Hernandez

December 31, 1964 - July 13, 2012

Kathryn Marie Kerr Petersen Hernandez, 47, passed away on July 13, 2012; doing what she loved, camping with her family. She was born on December 31, 1964 to Michael Kerr and Shirley Songer in Portland, Oregon. Kathryn married Ramon Hernandez on April 7, 2008 in Ogden Utah, where they lived happily. Kathryn worked as a flagger, a job which she enjoyed. She cherished camping, spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, the beauty of the mountains and peace of the flowing rivers. She loved to make everyone who knew her laugh and smile; by being silly. Kathryn was loved by many and had many loving friends that she considered family however; her favorite food was her husband’s tacos. She was loved by her family and will be forever missed. Kathryn is survived by her husband: Roman Hernandez, her children, LeRoy Linder of South Weber, Shirley Linder, Adeline Jones, Debra Jones all of Ogden, Karoline Peterson, of Arizona, Phelisha Wiest, of Alaska, 3 brothers; Joseph, Raymond, and James Kerr, all of Ogden, 2 sisters; Christina Dawson, of Roy, and Violet Kerr, of Ogden, 8 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 6 nieces and 11 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: Violet and Earl Songer, 2 brothers: Steven and Daniel Kerr and 1 nephew, Mark Dawson Jr. Graveside services for Kathryn will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may call Wednesday, July 18 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the graveside service, also at the Mortuary. Kathy was my best friend for 21 years. We had our share of problems but our friendship stayed strong.I have too many good memories to write about but the ones I will never forget are the nights we would call and talk to each other from sundown to sunup. We shared our feelings good and bad and were always there for one another.Kathy,I will never forget you,my best friend,my sister.

Well I remember when Kathy was married to my dad Gordon and I was always going to visit them and Shirley,Leroy,Debbie,Adeline and my sisters Karolyn and Phelisha when they were little and I always remember her being sweet and treating me as one of her own kids I remember visiting her and my dad when they lived in Arizona and her doing my nails that was fun lol.But I will miss her.I know I was only a daughter through marriage at one time but she was the best step mom!!!! Even though it had been years since I seen her in the past year we did get in touch and talk online and through text and I am thankful for that. And I will always love her.
