I loved my Uncle Kirk with all my heart. He was a tough but fair man that didn't pull punches and told you how it was. a lot of what i believe in through my life is because of him. i am his oldest nephew and will always be proud to call him my Uncle even though he is no longer here on this earth he will always be in my heart forever until the day i pass away. My kids never got to meet him, but i made it a point for them to know him through other means. just the limited contact he had with my kids made the biggest difference in their life, that is the only thing i regret is that i was not able for them to meet him in person. I love you and will always be proud to call you my family and one of my greatest sources of strength

Kirk was interesting. He took me in when I needed to find myself. He stood up as a father figure for me when I was at a very low place in my life. His children may not acknowledge me as family, but he always did.
