Lucile W Goodell

March 11, 1915 - June 24, 2011

Lucile GoodellOur Mother moved to a more peaceful world on June 24, 2011, following a brief illness.Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 11, 1915, Lucile was the 4th of 6 children born to Myrtle Parry Wells and Henry Bruin. She lived in Ogden her entire life.On May 23, 1938, Mom married the love of her life, Alan E. Goodell. Together they raised a loving family of 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. They celebrated 60 years of marriage until his death in 1998. She was so proud to live independently in her own home 11 years until her death. Mom worked alongside Dad as owner operators of Intermountain Photo Service in Ogden from 1948 until 1978. She was a gifted photographer and enjoyed many years working with several prominent local photographers. For many years, Mom actively supported Dad in his Masonic affiliations. Serving as Secretary for the Masonic Lodge Beauseant. Always the perfect lady and hostess, she would be found organizing monthly gatherings of their many friends, attending every special event in each one of our lives, and being an endearing friend to so many.Mom was uniquely a member of both the Methodist Church, and the LDS church, where she cherished her time serving as a primary teacher, and made so many lifelong friends. In April 2011, she was elated to be able to take out her endowments and be sealed to her husband and family for time and all eternity. This gave her a great sense of peace and contentment.Of all her many accomplishments, Mom was most proud of her family, and she never missed an opportunity to boast about each one of them. Her kind spirit and nurturing way, was evident in everything she did, and she had a special way of making sure everyone knew they were loved unconditionally. Mom truly loved life, and we are so blessed to have had such a special Mother, who will continue to be with us forever in our hearts. Preceeded in death by her loving husband Alan E. Sister Goodell was a wonderful woman. I always enjoyed visiting with her whether a home teacher, a friend, priesthood leader or neighbor. I remember her as always being positive and happy.
