Margaret Kuns

February 11, 1927 - May 14, 2012

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Margaret Rabel Kuns passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2012. She was born on February 11, 1927 to Slovakian immigrants, Samuel and Susanna Timko Vrabel; in Curtisville, Pennsylvania. She was the ninth of ten children. The family was deeply religious, following the Russian Orthodox Faith. Her dad and one brother worked as coal miners. Even struggling with health problems her whole life, Marge was always kind, loving, caring, generous, thoughtful and with a sense of humor. She was married to her husband Warren Wallace Kuns for 62 years. They both loved basketball and being an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marge always remembered everyone’s birthday with beautiful cards. She kept in touch with many friends and relatives by letter. She and Warren were always busy raising five kids, and she cooked many delicious meals for us all. In her spare time she loved doing crossword puzzles, growing flowers, and being outdoors talking to the birds. Occasionally, she would escape “The Family Circus” and play a calming game of solitaire in her bedroom. Marge is survived by her devoted husband, Warren, and five children: Kathleen, Eric (Melanie), Pam (Tony), Sandy (Ross), and Randy (Sue); one loving sister Jay Shemenski, 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Heather, Tara, Josh, Jeremy, Tamara, Jordan, Garrett, Justin, Rachel, Jacob and Noah; and five great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers. Special thanks to Access Hospice and their great care in her final days. The family will celebrate her life at one of her favorite places, Beus Pond. Condolences may be sent to kuns_44@msn.com or www.leavittsmortuary.com
