Margaret S Lopez

March 3, 1934 - November 8, 2012

Margaret S. Lopez was born in Merino, Colorado on March 3, 1934 to Belen and Simon Saldivar. Our dear mother, wife and friend left this world on Thursday, November 8, 2012. In 1954 she married our father, Innocencio R. Lopez and together they had 8 wonderful children who dad calls his unforgettable memories. Mom dedicated 46 years of service to St. Benedicts/Ogden Regional hospital. During her employment she made friends for life. Mom received a Humanitarian Award for her love and dedication to housekeeping. She unwillingly retired in January of 2011 due to health issues. Mom was a special friend to many but most of all she was very, very special to her family. None of us will ever forget her feistiness that enabled her to raise 6 grandchildren while working full-time. Mom had a deep and abiding love for all of her loved ones. Our mother served her loved ones throughout her life. None of us will ever forget her planning and preparing for family activities, these included: Peach Days at Brigham City, Catholic Day at Lagoon, Shopping, Parades and going to Nebraska. Mom always had a meal for anyone and everyone and was able to prepare it within minutes. Mom was a fantastic cook and very giving. She is survived by her husband and 5 children: Connie Chavez (Fred), Virginia Migliore-Padgett (Bob), Elaine Busk (Mark), Julianna Bustos-Rocha-Lopez, Paul James Lopez (Lainie); 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her 4 sisters and one brother: Geneieve Perez, 89, Lina Aragon, 83, Celia Sanchez, 80, Carrie Vigil, 74 and Steve Saldivar, 70. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Carl, Anthony and John Mary Lopez and 1 great grandson, Devin Scott Lopez, and 2 sisters, Marcelina Seja and Rosie Hernandez. Holy Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd, with Father Eric officiating. Graveside services will follow at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street. Family and friends are welcome to join us in a celebration of mom’s life at a gathering immediately following the graveside services at St. James Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Megan Grunander, Dr. Robert Ziegler, Judy, all of the Medical staff, her housekeeping friends, Mike Leavitt and the staff at Leavitt’s Mortuary, who cared for her and went above and beyond the call of duty. To those who wish, donations may be made to the family in care of Leavitt’s Mortuary. Please send us your condolences and a memory at www.leavittsmortuary.com

Mom, i luv u and i already miss you. It will be very difficult spending the holidays without you this year. You are the one that put sparkle into every holiday. The lights will shine very bright in heaven with you there, i know. I feel very numb and empty and only time will heal that. But there will never be a moment that i won't be thinking of you because your love is and will be forever in my heart. I'm not afraid to die now because i know you will be there waiting. i love you my beautiful mom!!!

To The Lopez family, Your Mother ws an amazing person. I remember when my mother died her and your father were there and led everyone in a song that I will never forget as long as I live. Bunchie, I did not, or never imagined I would miss you so! much. Four and half months short of living 60 years together, is nothing to shake a stick at. All our children always told me and even you! that you were mean. But you're not mean, you was tough. General Patton - had nothing on you. You was Meticulous, so much that if there is anything not right in Heaven, you will make it right! You will always be in my My Heart, Bunchie!!!!!!, Dad Clarence, to you.......

Mom, I am at peace knowing that you are now resting and in the comfort of our Lord Jesus. Mom, thank you for raising me and ensuring that all my needs were met. I will miss you so much mom. Please know that we will take care of dad. Dad, Joseph and I went to our house yesterday on 22nd Street. The home where I was raised; the home where you and dad lived for 30 years. So many memories in that home. I will never forget how special you made every Christmas. To this day mom, I have never tasted tortillas like yours; they were the best!!!! Mom, you will be missed by so many people who truly love you. Mom, may you rest in peace. I love you with all my heart!!!!!! Your Daughter Elaine.
