Melbourne Bragg

April 13, 1940 - September 13, 2017

Melbourne “Mel” Bragg passed away at home on September 13, 2017. He was born to Doyle and Inez Bragg on April 13, 1940, in Plymouth Utah. He met the love of his life in August of 1966 at the Johnny Cash concert at Lagoon in Farmington, Utah. They were married 10 days later on August 28, 1966, in Elko, Nevada; two sons and 51 years later they have accumulated seven grandchildren and five-ish great grandchildren.

Mel was a very hard working man. He was a fabricator and a teacher to both of his sons who have grown up to be very hardworking men. Mel served our country in both the National Guard and the Navy.  In his later years, he discovered Reiki and his love for nature. He could just sit amongst the trees for hours. Mel left this world the same way he entered it.

He is survived by his soul mate, JoAnn; sons, Brett Bragg and Bart (Donna) Bragg; brother, Arlo Bragg; sister, Yvonne Powell; grand children: Bo, Cody, McKenzie, Jaymie, Skye, Cody (Jessica), and Tristan; great grandchildren: Abbey, Sayda and Oriana; and his special little friends, Rocky and Ginger. He was preceded in death by both his parents and one sister, Gayle Wilson.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 12:00 pm at the Riverdale Park located at 4360 Parker Drive Riverdale Utah.

Services entrusted to Leavitt’s Mortuary.

My dear oldest brother, my earliest memories of you are in your white naval uniform. I love you so much and miss you dearly. You intrigued me with your Reiki abilities enough to pursue some knowledge. Some day I hope to be able to pay it forward to those in need, as you have done to so many. Rest peacefully.

What a hard time for my little sister, JoAnn to go through. Very sad. God asks us to trust when we can't understand. We love you all. God know what he's about.
