Peggy Jane Havens Carney, 86, passed away August 22, 2015.
She was born in Hamilton, Texas April 9, 1929 to Mack and Neola Cormany Havens .
She attended school in Hamilton, Texas and graduated from Hamilton High School. She married Ted Carney on February 24, 1951. From this union came five children: Ted Carney Jr. of Visalia, California, Pam (Kent) Slater of West Haven, Utah, Bill (Marilyn) Carney of Prescott, Arizona, Sharon Ybarra of Bakersfield, California, Matthew (Lisa) Carney of Diamond Springs, California. She had one granddaughter, seven grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.
Peggy was a stay at home mother who loved to cook, she was especially known by her neighbors and family for her pecan pies and banana nut bread. She was an avid quilter.
She was one of nine children: Maxine Shipman (deceased), Christy Lange (deceased), Jack Havens (deceased), Wanda Carney of Comanche, Texas, Hal Havens of Hamilton, Texas, Jenny Wilhoite (deceased), Joe Mack (deceased), Pat Lestern of Hamilton, Texas and many loving and wonderful nieces and nephews.
Mom loved and was loved. She will be greatly missed.
Peggy is survived by one daughter, Pam Slater, West Haven, Utah; three sons, Ted Carney, Visalia, California, Billy Carney, Prescott Valley, Arizona, Matthew Carney, Diamond Springs, California and eight grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Ybarra, Bakersfield, California.
