ROBERT LEE UHREY

August 13, 1926 - October 24, 2015

Robert Lee Uhrey, age 89, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 24, 2015 of causes incident to age.  Bob was born August 13, 1926 in Osborne, Kansas.  He was the only child of John Nicholas Uhren and Phoebe Ann Deshler.

Bob grew up in Sheffield, Iowa, then moved to Ogden, UT with his parents, graduating from Weber High School in 1944.  He joined the United States Army that same year at 17-years-old.  He served and was wounded in the Philippines during WWII and received an honorable discharge.

He attended Weber College, and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.  Bob married Janine Murdock in 1947.  They divorced in 1949.  Bob then married Donna Lou Longfellow in 1952.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.  That union was blessed with six children, Vikki, Marc, Debbie, David, Sandra and Susan.

Bob was employed by Pacific Fruit Express Railroad, as a special assistant in the Executive Department.  He worked as an accountant and group controller for Dataproducts Corp. During this time, he traveled extensively, both nationally and internationally.  After retiring, he consulted in international customs and accounting.  Bob earned his private pilot’s license in 1948, and spent countless hours in the air throughout his lifetime.

In 1970, he was divorced from Donna, and married Lenore Manfredi.  They moved to Gardnerville, NV.  In 2012, he moved to Layton, Utah, and lived with his daughters, Debbie and Susan.  Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He was a Seventy and a Stake Missionary, and served in many teaching roles, including, Gospel Doctrine and Home Teacher.  He loved all those he visited with.  At the time of his passing, he was a High Priest in the Forest Ridge Ward.

Bob is survived by his children; Vikki Watts, Marc (Lanae) Uhrey, Debbie (Robert) Tolton, David Uhrey, Sandra Scheid, Susan (Dennis) Poulsen, and step-daughter, Paula Corritori.  He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitt’s Aultorest Mortuary, 836 36th St, Ogden, UT 84403.   A viewing and family greeting will be held from 9:45-10:40 a.m. prior to the service.

Interment, Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.

Bob & I were friends for 40 + years - we stayed in touch over the years by email & occasional phone call. Never heard a angry or hurtful comment out of Bob. We will all miss him, & remember him. Rest in Peace my old friend

Sure sorry to hear about Bob's passing. When I would come to work on his room, we would visit a little bit. He told me about his life and about his time in the Army. I enjoyed listening and talking to him. Good man.
