Robert Lynn Martini

October 23, 1946 - April 6, 2014

Our Beloved Robert (Bob) Lynn Martini, 67, passed away into the loving arms of his Father in Heaven surrounded by his family on April 6, 2014. He put up a valiant fight to overcome his health problems but it wasn’t meant to be; the Lord had other plans for him.

He was born to Edward Joseph and Beth Martini on October 23, 1946 in Ogden, Utah. Bob grew up in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School and Weber State College.

He married his sweetheart Dixie Porter on December 28, 1968. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 15, 1972 and were married for 45 years. They were blessed with four children and 12 grandchildren.

Bob worked a short time at Hill Field Airbase and the IRS. He then became a letter carrier and retired after 35 years with the United States Post Office. He also worked in the theater business for many years.

Bob loved camping and enjoyed many weekends at Sourdough with his family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and games.

His family and friends will be walking down memory lane over and over remembering the man we have all came to love. He will never be far from our hearts and minds.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dixie, his children: Shawn (fiancée Heidi), Randy (Bridget), Melanie, Mike (Katie), and grandchildren.

Dixie. I am so sorry to hear about Bob. It has been so long since I last saw you guys and I do not subscribe to the Ogden Standard anymore so I heard of his passing from my sister Carol Ann two days after Bob's funeral. I will always remember him as a good friend and part of a larger group of friends who made me feel at home at Weber State when I transferred down from USU. We had many fun times together and I will remember him and you as a part of those good times. God bless you and your family. Keith

I am so sorry we can not be to your memorial service and viewing for your wonderful companion and husband. We are all meeting in Cedar Hills at noon to witness Faye's oldest grandchild as she is Baptized. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and the loss you feel in the passing of your Husband and Father. It will not be easy and you will have some very lonesome times because you were so close and enjoyed being together. I do know from personal experience that the Savior's Atonement is in full force at these times and that he loves you and will be there for you as you need Him to be there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless and keep you. In deepest sympathy, Love NaDene

To The Martini Family: Though we only knew Bob for a few years we knew him as a fun and caring person. Bowling with him was the highlight of the past few winters. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you and yours this past week. Welcome home Bob. You will be missed by all. Love, Matt & Tracey Burger

To The Martini Family: Brother Martini was my home teacher when I first moved to the Sunset Park Condos. I really enjoyed having him come to my home. He and Brother Faucett were great to visit with. May the Lord bless all of you and your families at this time. Sincerely, Maurvene Corbett
