Robert W. Simpson, 75, passed away on February 24, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on November 30, 1942, to Ruth V. Stoddard and Wayne G. Simpson in Ogden, Utah.
Robert attended Weber High School, where he met the love of his life, Carol N. Moody. They have enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He worked at Morton Thiokol for 17 years; after retiring he worked as an equipment operator from Alaska to Antarctica and places in between. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and mineral prospecting.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carol N. Simpson; two daughters, Charol “Char” Simpson and Jennie (Garrett) Thalman; three sisters, Dolores Peterson, Jeanne Stites, and Mary Ann (Dean) Cardon; one brother, Jerry Jones; four grandchildren, Reggie, Tanner, Saibra and Dylan; as well as his favorite dogs, Squirt, Cricket and Little.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Ruth Virginia Stoddard; father, Wayne George Simpson; and his brother, Dewayne Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary Atrium Room, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The family invites you to dress casually.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the medical and support professionals that took such wonderful care of Robert during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers the family requests plants so they can live on just like the memory of Robert.
