Sarah Francis Brittain Gunderson (Francie), was born May 11, 1944 in Rupert County Arkansas. She passed away Saturday May 14, 2011 at the home of her son in Omaha, NE surrounded by family and her best friend / beloved dog George.Sarah married Darrell Ralph Gunderson, they were later divorced. She was blessed with 4 Children, James (Layna), Christina (Ben), Dianna (Dean), and Ryan (Megan). Sarah is survived by her four children and their spouses’; her brother Fred Brittain and three grandchildren, Kelsie Socwell, Madison and Kirsten Lucas. In her own words, her life was her family, and she wished to express her love for her family, friends, and co-workers!She devoted her life to her children and her career at Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind. She worked for the School for the Blind from November 1978 until July 2009. While employed at USDB she held many teaching assignments as well as administrative duties. Sarah loved life and was blessed. She rode motorcycles, had her private pilot’s license to fly small air craft, and she was deeply involved with Masonic Organizations. Sarah joined Queen Ester Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in October of 1976. As a member of the OES she held many offices including Worthy Matron in 2000, and again in 2004. In 2008, she served Grand Lecturer.Services will be held Saturday May 21, 2011, at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah at 2:00pm.
