In lieu of flowers and in memory of Shirley, the family asks that you instead consider spending time with an older one in need or perhaps giving a fulltime caregiver a much needed break.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Applegate Hospice, CNA Lisa, RN Tiffany, and caregivers Jamie Andersen and Paula Gilgen Webb who cared for Shirley and gave her respect, dignity, love and care.  Also a very special hug to Debbie, Conner and Jackson who were sent to Shirley and the family when they needed them the most.

What a beautiful family. My heart goes out to all of you. We always felt so fortunate to have known Peter and Shirley, having been neighbors for several years. I always admired and loved them, their generosity and kindness, their concern for others. Harry, their cat accepted us as family, too; he left paw prints on the top of our car during cool nights. It always made us smile. Your lovely obituary, the things that are important to you show the kind of people Peter and Shirley were. The world's a better place because of them and all of you. My sincere love and prayers are with you. Ruth Fisher
