ROY- Anita (Gay) Dixon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday March 9th, 2019.
Gay was born on September 5, 1938 in Ogden, Utah to Jacob and Naomi Ayoub. She graduated from Weber High School, and attended Weber State College.
Gay married Donald Larry Dixon on April 15, 1961. They were able to celebrate 50 years of marriage before he passed away in 2011. Together they had three children, Marilyn Dixon of Brigham, Lauri (Paul) VanAmerongen of Madison, Wisconsin, Judy (Eric) Neyts of Peoria, Arizona, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Gay worked diligently at many jobs over the years. She worked for St. Benedict’s Hospital, Davis North Hospital and Matrixx Marketing. She was a member of the BPO Does, where she served as Drove President, and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks where she served as an Exalted Ruler. Gay enjoyed serving actively in her many positions in the the Does and the Elks. She also loved to cook and make meals for others. She loved traveling, visiting with family and friends, and doing things with her grandchildren.
Gay was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Naomi Ayoub, and by her husband, Larry Dixon. She is survived by her children, and her brother Allan J Ayoub.
The family would like to express thanks to neighbors Jeff Carter and Arlene Leshon for their help, love and concern, as well as Jolene Dixon who helped care for Gay over the past year and half.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street in Ogden. Friends may visit the family on Thursday evening March 14th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services also at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Golden Spike Elk's Lodge National Foundation.
Interment Leavitt’s Autorest Memorial Park.
