On February 11, 2019 we had to say good-bye for now to an amazing piece of our family. Eric Nielsen will be greatly missed, the peacemaker of the family. He was so full of all the love, understanding and friendship that he had to leave early.
Eric and Katie shared 20 years together full of countless memories, love and support. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, they were his world, from cheering them on in the stands to watching them play in the backyard. Entertaining was Eric’s specialty, always up for a good time.
Eric had a love for life, the ability to light up a room, take a situation flip it upside down and see the good. Eric had a way of connecting with people, he made them feel like they were important, they were welcome, and they were one of his best friends. He could make you laugh till your side hurt. Eric loved his job and had a true passion for what he did as an A-10 aircraft painter at Hill Air Force Base. He loved to watch the jets go by and say, “hear that, that’s the sound of freedom!”
Eric leaves behind his wife Katie and children Boston, Allie and Charly, parents Tom and Vicki Nielsen, Joe and Sue Hill. Brothers and sister Troy (Michelle) Nielsen, Tonya (Randy) Minson, Robert (Shannon) Nielsen. Brother and sister in law Kelly (Dale) Flint, Jeff (Tara) Hill, Tyler (Leslie) Hill and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Highlands Ward, 5855 Skyline Drive, South Ogden. A celebration of his life to follow at the same location from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
