Our beautiful mother was born on August 27, 1938, to Jackson and Erma Bell in Ogden, Utah. After living for several years in Mesa, Arizona, she returned to the mountains on November 19th to live out the final five days of her life in the loving care of her family. We are forever grateful to have had that time to share memories, a few laughs, perhaps a little exasperation and a glass of wine (or two). Mom lived a good life. She was a graceful presence, an amazing athlete, a go-getter and a bit of a rascal. She was an accomplished golfer, having won several club championships at Patio Springs and later in her adopted home, where she lived on the 5th tee and could still watch others play when she no longer could. Mom was a gifted artist. She loved to paint from memory many of the places she had visited.
Mom worked for years as a surgical assistant to Dr. Dean Tanner, and helped our father, Dean Perkins establish and operate Perkins Ltd., a successful ski, clothing and lifestyle store in Ogden. Mom and dad lived large and were royalty to us, probably like most parents are to their kids.
Mom is preceded by her parents, her brother Jeff Bell (Susan), and her husband, George Riger. She leaves her daughter Kelly Buehler (Scott) and son, Deano (fiancée Jodie), Her sister Susan Tribe (Bill), lots of grandkids, nephews, nieces, and dear friends. A special thanks to Lawana Gramm for her selfless love these past several months.
Mom will be interred with her parents in the spring, on a little hill in the old pioneer cemetery in Peterson, Utah. A Celebration of mom’s life will be held for family and friends at the Urban Studio, 215 Historic 25th Street in Ogden on December 14, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please tell someone you love them very much.
