Nelda Rae Hill Housley (88) of Washington Terrace passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 surrounded by family. She was born in Ogden, Utah on February 25, 1930, to William Archie and Thelma Dorthea Hill. She married Lewis John Housley June 22, 1951, in Uintah. Her beloved husband passed away on May 9, 1978. Together they had two sons and two daughters.
Mom was very personable and had a large circle of friends who all enjoyed getting together for lunch dates or other activities. She was an avid reader constantly having a good book in progress on her kindle, and looked forward to attending monthly book club meetings to discuss recent picks. She was extremely intelligent. She was always game for a new adventure wherever it took her from snorkeling in Hawaii to four-wheeling in Bear Lake. Above all, mom was kind, loving and patient. Her family was everything to her. Family gatherings, whenever possible, was her greatest joy. She leaves a legacy of perseverance, strength, and everlasting love. Our hearts are broken and empty.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband; son, Lynn Allen Housley; and sister, Cheryl Payne. She is survived by son, Rex (Joyce) Housley; daughters, Sherry (Michael) Liegert and Tracy Smith; daughter-in-law, Christine Housley; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Norma (Tomy) Yasuda and brother, Earl (Patt) Hill.
