Anthony Tony Olivas's Obituary

Anthony Olivas August 23, 1958 ~ January 8, 2020 Anthony (Tony) Olivas made his last inappropriate and more than likely sarcastic gesture on January 8, 2020, at the age of 61. We think he did this on purpose mainly because he was a stubborn old bastard. Affectionately known as Tony O by his family and friends, he was a welder by trade and an avid rider. Tony was an extraordinarily great man, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who was born August 23, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to Gloria (Draper) and Cornelio "Shorty" Olivas. He took extreme pride in and loved his son, Nicholas and adorable granddaughters Taylie, and Makinlie, as much as he loved his mustache and beard, his breakfasts with Nicholas, cold Budweiser, grilling, eating miniature size candy by the handful, flannel sheets, hanging out at the pool, going off on (hilarious) tangents, cigarettes, looking at life through his rose-colored glasses, and riding with his Brothers. He fondly reminisced about good friends, good drinks, and good times at Angelos, The HogDen, and Dars. He was a ladies man, beer slayer, and an outlaw. Not necessarily in that order. He hated loud-mouthed know-it-alls, his feet, pizole, and hypocrites. Not necessarily in that order. Tony leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that he was very proud of (at least one side of the family). Tony was renowned for not holding back his opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it wasnt what you wanted to hear. With that said he was genuine to a fault, a teddy bear at heart, and yet he sugar-coated absolutely nothing. His extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more swear words than most people learned in a lifetime. He liked four-letter words as much as he loved riding his Harley. Everyone always knew where they stood with Tony O. He either liked you or he didnt - period. But on the other hand, Tony would be the first to take his shirt off of his back for you and would give you his undivided attention if you needed him to lend an ear. Tony led a very full life, sometimes pushing it to the limits, and taught that all the really good things in life are beyond the "Do Not Enter" signs. He will be sorely missed and survived by his son Nicolas Olivas; "Adopted" daughter Brittany Carey; Siblings: MarLaine, Dee, Bobbie, Pete, Pam, Colleen, and Pepo; Granddaughters Taylie Olivas and Makinlie Olivas; "Adopted" grandchildren Tabitha McDonald and Mickey McDonald; Uncles, aunts, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gloria and Cornelio "Shorty" Olivas, his brother Kemo Olivas, and his true love Trisha Gooch. All whom loved him dearly will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, sarcasm, and undying love. The family would like to extend a great deal of gratitude to the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals and staff at McKay Dee Hospital who took exceptional care of Tony and for taking the time to patiently explain matters and make his family feel comfortable. Per Tonys wishes, in lieu of a service, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Well-wishers are encouraged to write a note of farewell on a Budweiser can and drink it in his honor. Please note the change of address to his new place of residence, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT 84403 directly next door to Trishs place.
