On July 29, 2013 a Sweet Spirit and Devoted Prayer Warrior peacefully passed from this world to her Mansion in Heaven. Carolina Orozco Sanchez was born on Sept. 4, 1917 to Damian and Maria Orozco. She was a Miracle Girl who was premature and weighed less than 2 pounds. The Dr. had her parents give her Condense Milk and place her in a shoe box on the door of the wood burning stove to keep her warm. She came to Utah and met Pablo M. Sanchez and was married on November 17, 1949. He passed away on June 6, 1988. They had four children. Her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild have been the loves of her life. She has traveled much of the United States working with her family growing up. She sewed baby clothes with her mother to earn money during the depression. During World War 2 she painted war planes and she also worked in the kitchen of the Navy base hospital. While married she was employed at the Ramada Inn, Ogden Turkey plant and did maintenance work at Hill Air Force Base. She loved to read, sew, crochet, go out to eat with family, and travel. In her later years she loved to have company. She enjoyed doing for others and prayed for everyone. But her real Love and Pride were her Family. Carolina loved her Family very deeply. She is survived by her children: Maria (Tommie) Sandoval Ogden, Pablo (Linda) Sanchez Roy, Beatrice (Jerry) Cravens Layton, John (Tammy) Sanchez Indiana, step-daughter Irene Brown Layton, 16 grand-children, 13 great grand-children and one great-great grandson who all adore her. She was preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons, Jason Cravens and David Martinez. She will be missed greatly. You have been a great example of a Godly woman and we honor you and celebrate your life. We love you Mom, grandma, nana. Funeral Services will be held Saturday Aug. 3, 2013, 1:30 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street where friends may visit with the family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services Saturday.
