Obituary

OGDEN Casey L. Stone, 52, beloved father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend peacefully crossed over to a better place on January 31, 2018. Casey was born in Ogden, UT, on September 28, 1965, to Lewis A. Stone and Karen VanDrimmelen Smith. He attended Roy High and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1984. Casey had been employed at Harmons Bakery in Roy, UT, and Kimberly Clark. Casey married Jackie L. Knighton in 1993. They were later divorced. Together they had three children: Casey Chase, Morgan and Jenna. His children were the love of his life and he would do anything for them. His children were the reason he got up in the morning and what gave him the strength to stay here with us for so long. Casey was an avid mountain biker and played basketball and football when he was younger. He always enjoyed physical activities until his cancer in 1997, and his stroke in 2003, which put limitations on his body. Casey loved watching Sunday football with his family. Go Raiders! He loved camping, fishing, music, family parties and most of all loved every minute of watching his children grow into adulthood. Casey had a very tender heart. He treated everyone he met with love and respect. Casey was a prankster. When he was younger he was always teasing his younger sisters as big brothers do. Casey was fortunate to have a close group of friends that he graduated from high school with and he always treasured their friendships. Especially his lifelong friend, Brian Holt, who was like a brother to him. Casey was the first child born and was the apple of his parents eye. He gave them much pleasure and joy. He was a fast learner and was walking (running) by the age of 9 months and never slowed down. As a child, he gave his mother a run for her money. Casey will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We will miss his love, his goofy looks, his jokes, his incredible warrior-type strength and his precious sweet soul. We know you are in a better place now and you are out of pain and suffering. We know you are near us because of your love for your children. We know you are watching over them from where you are and if we are quiet and think of you, we will feel your presence. We love you Casey. Casey is survived by his parents, Lew and Sheila Stone, Skip Smith; children, Casey Chase, Morgan and Jenna Stone; sisters, Wendy (Timm) Kleeb, and Tami Masters (Mike Landon); step-brother, Rick (Sophia) Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his loving mother, Karen V. Smith.
