Dale Hodges Linford, 84, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, September 16, 2012. He was born on April 24, 1928 to James F. Linford and Leonora H. Linford, in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. He married CJ Kit Gibson on August 4, 1945, Solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. In 1945 he joined his brothers in business with Linford Bro. Glass Co. and was its president when he retired in 1997. A faithful lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many capacities including stake high councilor, bishopric member and quorum president, but always felt his greatest callings were as husband and father. He was absolutely devoted to his beloved family, having been married to his high school sweetheart for 68 years at his passing. Special thanks to IHC Hospice for their compassionate car, and to Leavitts Mortuary for their tender concern. Dale is survived by his adored wife, CJ Kit Linford, by his 6 dear children: D.E. Lindy Linford (Karlene), Karin J. Linford, Karol J. Phipps (Jerry), R.G. Bob Linford (Cindy), Joseph G. Linford (Rebecca), Jeffry G. Linford (Donna). He is also survived by 21grandchildren and numerous great and great- great grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his loving parents and equally loving parents-in-law, Eugene W. Gibson and Henrietta B. Gibson and all 8 of his beloved older brothers. Funeral services will be held at the LDS Chapel at 300 W. 4900 S. Washington Terrace, Utah, on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
