Obituary

Douglas Keith Gavin, 62, passed away at home June 5, 2013. He was born November 15, 1950 in Ogden, Utah son of Keith and Charlene R. Gavin. He spent his childhood in Roy, Utah and graduated from Roy High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Douglas was a member of the American Legion Post 129 in Huntsville, Utah. He served as commander for five years. Douglas worked at DDO and retired from Hill Air Force Base. He later took up truck driving. Doug skied, worked and played at Snow Basin. In many ways he called it his home. He loved ski racing and volunteered during the Salt Lake Winter Olympics. This was a great time in his life. He enjoyed water skiing, river rafting, the mountains and outdoor activities. He will be missed by many family and friends. Douglas is survived by his mother, Charlene, Roy,UT, sister Sandee, a Niece Belinda, Nephew Daniel of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his father and both sets of grandparents.
