Elaine Mathias's Obituary

Elaine J. Mathias, 80, passed peacefully from this life May 31, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. She was born October 26, 1934 to John Mobley and Beulah Brown in Weber County, Utah. Elaine graduated from Ogden High School. Elaines outstanding love for travel developed when she followed her second husband around the Far East while he was a test pilot in the U.S. Air Force. While traveling the world, Elaine developed a love for finding and restoring antiques. Elaine found joy in being a mother and homemaker to her three children. She spent years working for the family business and at the IRS. Elaine enjoyed her time traveling, playing bridge and spending time with family. Elaine is survived by her two sons: John P. (Debra) Boatright and Brian (Michelle) Kemp; her sisters: Peggy Powers, Jackie Herrin and Gloria Webster; her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and John (Jack) Mobley; sister, Forrest Manzel; and daughter, MaryAnn Kemp. A Memorial Service will be held Friday June 5, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the LDS Church located at 2915 West 4425 South, Roy, Utah. A dinner will follow services. Interment will follow at a later date in Leavitts Aultorest Mausoleum, 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
